Flame & Flavor is an invitation only cannabis dinner series presented by Annata featuring talented chefs from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. We pair two chefs – provide them with a comprehensive tour of our facility in Tacoma, WA, take them to Pike Place Market to source fresh local ingredients, and let them use their imaginations when creating the menu. Each dish features a cannabis component thoughtfully integrated into each plate. The emphasis is on creatively using the flavors and terpenes of the featured cannabis strains. For our inaugural dinner we were thrilled to have two extremely talented chefs; BJ Smith and Han Ly Hwang:

Chef B.J. Smith is the Owner and Executive Chef of Smokehouse 21, Smokehouse Tavern, and Kim Jong Smokehouse at Pine Street Market in Portland, Oregon as well as the newest location, Smokehouse Provisions, in Vancouver, Washington. Most recently he was a contestant on Top Chef Season 14.

Chef Han Ly Hwang opened Kim Jong Grillin, a Korean BBQ food cart in 2009. After a few short months Kim Jong Grillin won the Judges choice award at the Eat Mobile food festival and has been named one of the Oregonian’s Best New Food Carts. He has been on Chopped, where he was a finalist. Chef Han & Chef Smith have recently opened Kim Jong Smokehouse.

Chef Smith and Chef Hwang produced a creative and elevated 6 course menu for our 12 guests. Dishes included Cannabis Smoked Duck Breast, Scallops w/ Cannabis Oil, Absinthe and Cannabis Ice Cream.
